Apple-iphone-ad (1) Apple-iphone-ad

I chose this ad because nowadays the iphone is very popular and well known. Many people buy the iphone and also wait for the next edition to be released so that they can have the best software and design. Also, the apple company has become very confident because of their successes and I thought that the “It’s OK to stare” statement displayed the company’s confidence and attitude well. The original ad is also rather simple and shows the iphone layout and structure. The original ad shows the apple company’s themes with the black background and silver finishes. It depicts part of the modern culture because so many people have iphones and use apple products. Apple is a dominant company in todays society and has remained relevant for many  years. I chose the oppositional ad because I think that a lot of people can relate to it.  Apple is a popular and dominant company especially in the smartphone industry and they constantly come out with new things for people to buy such as new editions of the iphone, ipads, and computers. The oppositional ad shows a new iphone and says its Ok to stare but at the end says that the viewer probably just bought an edition of the iphone that previously came out and now a newer one is out so the consumer cant upgrade because they just upgraded. The oppositional ad makes somewhat of a mockery of apple because apple always comes out with new products very soon after they release another product. Many people buy the new iphone only to be disappointed soon later when another newer edition of iphone comes out and the person cant get it for a reasonable price because they are in contract with the other phone. Both ads look somewhat the same but have completely different meanings.
